Nabor Kisser

Nabor Kisser (Austrian) is a biologist graduated from the University of São Paulo. While still in Vienna he studied 2 years of management and protection of the landscape at the natural resources and University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU).

His final work for at the university was a study about the environmental fragility based on biotic and morphological aspects of the landscape of the Natural Park of the City of Paranapiacaba, Santo André, São Paulo, from high definition images taken by satellites. (IKONOS)

Besides his natural science background, Nabor was always involved with different areas as photography and fine arts. He also took part of the photo exhibition proposed by the Nanquim Gallery in São Paulo (2001). He has great interest in the use of technology and has worked with web development during 2 years in Germany.

Nowadays he is interested in applying technology for remote sensor and geo-process in the protection of the environment.

In project Expedição Francisco, his main objective is to make a board diary online with real time positioning of the boad during the river journey using a GPS device. This diary should be a hybrid of classic expedition diaries of the great explorers such as A. Humbold who traveled through the Amazon and Orinoco rivers, though using a modern internet interface with the support of high tech navigational systems.
